In Gillette’s new short film, ”Every Hero Sweats, Some Never Show It”, Gillette wishes to showcase the lesser known challenges that servicemembers face when retiring or separating from the military and re-entering civilian life and finding a job. Gillette wants to celebrate the everyday heroes who persevere through that transition all while balancing the everyday demands of their job, family life, and any number of additional challenges they face.
As part of Gillette’s new “Every Hero Sweats” campaign, Gillette Deodorant is drawing inspiration from Gillette’s storied history of supporting the military. Gillette’s support began in WWI when the company provided standard razor kits to all US soldiers. In WWII, Gillette created covert kits for POWs that contained Gillette grooming items, but also other secret supplies like razor-blade compasses, counterfeit German currency, and maps of enemy territory.
