Jim Griffith, father of St. Frances Quarterback John Griffith, has used adversity as a teaching moment for his son. To the Griffiths, adversity isn’t something to be avoided, but faced head on as a necessary ingredient to achieving success.

Alonzo “Ace” Colvin uses football as a way to release and refocus, turning the adversity he’s faced into a positive. He knows you can’t sit and wait for opportunities to happen, you have to go out and grab them on your terms. Ace’s goal is about more than making a name for himself, it’s about opening the door for those to follow in his footsteps.
